Mavic has been one of the most recognized brands in the European pro peleton for the past century. Founded in 1889, the brand is known for their wheels but recently expanded into the cycling apparel market. With over a hundred years in the game, Mavic covers everything from wheels, to apparel as well as neutral support for many high profile cycling races.

Post-launch of the well-know Ksyrium line, Mavic had been relatively quiet from an innovation standpoint. Other wheel manufacturers had the jump on product in all categories. Lackluster customer service and warranty issues plagued the brand. When looking to expand their media presence in North America, Mavic turned to ECHOS.

CBD has recently gone from a niche product to ubiquity. Consistent and thorough media outreach from ECHOS allowed Floyd's of Leadville to ride the crest of the CBD wave, and tell the story of natural pain relief that defines the brand.

Beginning in 2017, ECHOS Communications partnered with Floyd's of Leadville, helping turn the public perception not only about CBD as it entered the US market in force. Positioning Floyd's as a market leader in the CBD space was our primary goal, but education surrounding this new supplement was also much needed across all verticals. What is CBD and who needs it? How can it benefit athletic performance and those living an active lifestyle?

ECHOS brought a spotlight to the importance of CBD as a pain management alternative and amplified the brand stories that define Floyd's of Leadville. We earned Floyd's media coverage from outlets as diverse as Outside, Forbes, Wirecutter, Wired, and Wall Street Journal, along with active lifestyles endemic media powerhouses such as Bicycling, Runner's World and Backpacker. Reception among digital-only media was just as strong, with consistent coverage in outlets including Trend Hunter, Gear Patrol and Cool Material. With ECHOS guidance, Floyd and CBD are both household names in 2020.

Since the early days of ECHOS we’ve been proud to partner with the world’s most desirable handbuilt cycling brands. We’re passionate about the craft of frame building and still get excited about the limitless possibilities of making a bicycle from scratch. Challenges abound when working with brands whose product is exclusive by definition and it’s been our privilege to overcome them in our work with numerous builders and brands. From communications to branding, event activations and social media, our work has been instrumental in the continued appeal of the segment.

The Vanilla Workshop / Speedvagen: When custom bicycles hit the national consciousness, “Vanilla” was the word on everyone’s lips. Jaws dropped and orders rolled in. Sidestepping this unsustainable demand for his personally-crafted Vanilla bikes, founder Sacha White began Speedvagen as a sideshow, making team-built stock bicycles with quality eclipsing most customs. Soon the Speedvagen brand was ready for center stage, and it was clear that media communications and marketing guidance would push Speedvagen further.

ECHOS took the marketing reins and built excitement around Speedvagen’s core appeal– a unique sense of design and deep commitment to individualized geometry. We launched new Ready Made models to change the narrative around the ease of buying a custom bike. With a price point higher than nearly any other bike on the market, making Speedvagen accessible to riders was paramount.

Over the course of three years, we took the message to the media and the public alike, executing a sleight of hand wherein Speedvagen neatly assumed the place of Vanilla at the pinnacle of desirability in the custom bike world. From Gear Patrol and Esquire to a cover feature in Bicycling magazine, Speedvagen was featured in every endemic and lifestyle publication that touches cycling.

Mosaic: Precision and efficiency are the hallmarks of Mosaic’s work, allowing them to deliver fully-realized custom ti and steel bikes in a fraction of the time required by the competition. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that their paint program has consistently delivered stunning work over their decade-plus of operation. Over the course of our 5-year relationship ECHOS helped Mosaic balance this powerful combination of visual appeal, quality, and dependability for maximal effect. Major wins include Esquire's “85 for 85,” The Wall St. Journal, The Guardian, Road.cc and Bicycling Magazine.

Argonaut: When Argonaut founder Ben Farver re-launched his successful steel frame shop as the world’s best custom carbon bicycle manufacturer, ECHOS was on hand to capture and translate the intense technical success represented by the shift. At the same time, we carefully grounded the presentation of the new Argonaut with touchpoints of passion, suffering, and ecstasy familiar to handbuilt bicycle connoisseurs.

We spread the word through a consistent series of reviews, shop and manufacturing tours with high-level media. With placements from (but not limited to!) Men’s Journal, Hypebeast and Wired on the “non-endemic” side, rounded out by long term glowing reviews from Bicycling Magazine and The Radavist; Argonaut received unparalleled media coverage. The level and detail of the coverage told the Argonaut Story, elevating the brand and driving more online awareness than any of Argonaut’s peers as they launched Custom Carbon into the world and grew into an aspirational brand.

When Bosch introduced its innovative product to the North American market, ECHOS was the agency of choice and was granted the agency of record for two years. We supported the brand with public relations, marketing strategy, brand communications, video concept and execution, and overall brand and event support.

ECHOS hosted media tours in NYC, Seattle, Portland, Chicago, LA, and San Francisco to engage with journalists on a deeper level. This strategic focus allowed the brand to be featured in NYT, Digital Trends, Popular Mechanics and CNET to name a few. Our media connections and on the ground team ensured that Bosch was well represented and allowed the company spokesperson to connect with top-level editors to tell the story genuinely and effectively.

ECHOS also hosted an event in Silicon Valley that brought together CEO’s, founders and top executives for a panel discussion on eMoblity and creative living. These insights helped position Bosch eBike Systems as an eMobility market leader.

Roval Components have more wins on their wheels than any brand in the world. A pioneer in wheel technology, Roval brought the first complete wheel systems to the market, revolutionizing rides since the 70’s. A rider first brand, Roval makes wheels that compete at the top step of the podium, as well as entry-level products for enthusiasts and recreational riders alike.

ECHOS was approached by Roval with a simple ask, help us spread our wings and fly. Having been purchased by Specialized a decade ago, Roval had become synonymous with the big S. Our task was to help tell Roval’s story entirely, without the ties to a larger brand dictating the narrative. With exciting gravel products coming to market, the stage had been set.

Leveraging both media and industry relations ECHOS launched the Terra gravel line for Roval in Sept 2019. Blanket endemic coverage was achieved, alongside wins in the lifestyle and mass media space. The physical launch was a testament to the brand and our agency’s strength, bringing media and influencers from around the globe to test the wheels in Downieville CA. Utilizing custom bicycles instead of Specialized gravel bikes, a clear line was drawn that Roval is its own brand, and ready to ROLL!
