In the industry standard Martindale abrasion test, Nuyarn Merino lasted to 123,333 rubs before the first sign of breakdown. Whereas traditionally spun merino lasts around 14,000-18,000 rubs before a hole appeared.

Nuyarn Merino is 8.8x more durable than traditionally spun merino. One Nuyarn Merino garment will last as long as nine traditionally spun merino garments.

Nuyarn twist-free technology can use longer fibres without creating tension. This lack of tension alongside the increased elasticity in the fibre structure leads to less opportunities for breakage. Compared to traditionally spun merino, Nuyarn Merino delivers 50% increased tensile strength, resulting in a more consistent appearance, less pilling and fewer holes in acres of impact or abrasion.
